Infrared Sauna

Infrared sauna uses invisible light rays to heat your body from the inside out rather than heating the air around you in a traditional sauna. The sun produces a combination of visible and invisible light. Invisible light rays, or infrared rays, are what make the sun feel warm while visible light rays (or UV rays) are what make the sun bright. In fact, infrared saunas usually operate between 115° – 135°F, while traditional saunas can get up to 195°F. In an infrared sauna, the air temperature is less important than the quality of the infrared heat.

Scientists have established that infrared waves are beneficial to the human body because they are easily absorbed, stimulating the lymphatic, immune and cardiovascular systems through vibration of water molecules in the cells of the body to release toxins. This enhances in reducing stress, relieving pain, shrinking belly fat, purifying the skin, improve skin tone, boosting the immune system, reducing wrinkles, stimulating collagen production, and increasing energy. Infrared saunas also work to remove harmful impurities, waste, toxins, and heavy metals from fat cells that are found deep within the body. As your body absorbs the infrared heat, this will increase your core body temperature inducing a deep and relaxing sweat.

Studies have shown that infrared sauna helps to detoxify the body and treat chronic health problems, such as high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. It can also be used to help relieve symptoms of headaches, type 2 diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis.

Whether you’re a professional athlete, recreational racket player, or just aiming to make the high school varsity team, athletes at every level need their bodies to perform at an optimal level. Infrared sauna has been proven to help the body recover from strenuous workouts faster and can help relieve muscle soreness by increasing blood flow and circulation through the body.

Light Therapy has been valued throughout history as a remarkable source of healing. Today, the therapeutic applications of light and color are being investigated in major hospitals and research centers worldwide. Results indicate that full-spectrum light can have therapeutic value for a range of conditions from chronic pain and depression to immune disorders.

Is there a science behind infra red sauna?

Yes! According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, regular use of a sauna boosts the cardiovascular system as running. As you relax in the gentle infrared heat, your body is hard at work producing sweat, pumping blood and burning calories. As your body increases sweat production to cool itself, your heart works harder to pump blood at a greater rate to boost circulation. This increase in your metabolism will burn calories. Increased blood circulation carries off metabolic waste products and delivers oxygen-rich blood to oxygen-depleted muscle, so they recover faster. The Infrared waves will also raise your core body temperature, inducing an artificial fever. A fever is the body’s natural mechanism to strengthen and accelerate the immune response, as seen in the case of infection. This enhanced immune system, combined with improved elimination of toxins and wastes via intense sweating, increases your overall health and resistance to disease.

You are going to be sweating out water by using infrared heat technology to burn calories. Infrared saunas are clinically shown to aid weight loss. During a sauna weight loss session, core temperatures increase.  The body has to work hard to cool itself, causing a healthy sweat.  Using an infrared sauna increases heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate, burning more calories; leading to more weight loss, and blood flow also rises, increasing form 5-7 quarts up to 13 quarts a minute. Plus, regular use of our saunas may provide many of the same benefits as regular exercise, such as cardiovascular conditioning. Also, we recommend drinking enough water (will be provided) to avoid any dehydration due to dry heat.
